Course Aims:
This course will introduce you to the world of child care. It will also enable those who complete the course to apply for the NC Early Education & Child Care course. Course Content:
Child Development and health; Play in early education & child care; working in early education and child care; additional optional units.

Progression Opportunities:
On successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to apply for NC Early Education & Child Care.

Career Potential:
Learners who wish to work with children will normally progress to the NC Early Education & Child Care programme so they can register with the Scottish Social Services Council as support workers.

Course Assessment:
Learners will be assessed in a continuous way. This means that you are encouraged to demonstrate your progress on a regular basis throughout the course.
