This course will help you to develop the knowledge and skills required to provide high level effective support as a teaching assistant.
Volunteering or working for 15 hours per week in school will help to develop your practical skills whilst regular college sessions will provide you with vital underpinning knowledge.
The sessions are run by experienced tutors & you will be assigned a workplace assessor who will visit you in school to assess your practice and provide constructive guidance. Your knowledge is assessed by regular assignments.
About this course
NCFE CACHE Level 4 Advanced Practioner in Schools & Colleges helps learners to develop skills of leadership, mentoring, coaching and reflection or you may wish to undertake the BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies or a Foundation Degree in Early Years.
Adults aged 18+ who are established in a TA role or volunteering, in a school or college with a high level of responsibility.
You need to have be working or volunteering as a teaching assistant for 15 hours per week in a school. The breath of your role is important - you need to have a high level of responsibility at your school - for example responsibility for regularly planning and implementing group activities independently of the teacher. We would expect you to you will have a minimum 12 months experience in this role before embarking on this course.
