Introduction Course Outcome: NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Palliative Care.

Key Objectives
· To provide learners with a definition of palliative care
· Explore common questions and themes in palliative care
· Inform learners of the range of possible approaches to palliative care
· Assist in supporting a person's familial, spiritual, social and emotional needs
· Make learners aware of the principles of pain management
· Prepare the learner to confront issues such as pain and bereavement

· Understanding palliative care
· Supporting a person's needs in a palliative care context
· Supporting a person with their physical care needs
· Care during the final hours of life and bereavement care
