Neonatal Resuscitation

A standardised training Course for all healthcare professionals in assessment and resuscitation of the newborn. The Course will meet the needs of healthcare providers who require the ABC of neonatal resuscitation.

Background

The Scottish Neonatal Resuscitation Course has been developed to provide a standardised training course for all healthcare professionals in assessment and resuscitation of newborn babies. The course will meet the needs of healthcare providers who do not require the more advanced skills provided on the Newborn Life Support (NLS) course or the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). It aims to provide healthcare personnel with assessment and airway management skills to provide effective resuscitation at birth. The Scottish Neonatal Resuscitation Course will also provide a means of standardising in-service education in newborn resuscitation throughout Scotland.
