Description

Do you want to be: System Administrator, Network Engineer, Computer Technician? In the last few years there has been a massive growth in vendor qualifications from Microsoft, CISCO and CompTIA which in turn has led employers to name these qualifications when advertising for staff. This new course integrates the traditional HNC and HND programme with knowledge and skills which will allow the student to sit a range of vendor exams, if they so wish, and also allows Progression to University.

One Higher Grade pass and three Standard Grades passes to include evidence of numeracy and computer skills. Alternatively NC modules or NQ units will also be considered. Candidates over 18 may be accepted with lower qualifications. Candidates with particular vendor qualifications may be eligible for credit transfer in some subjects.

Hours per week: 18 hours (students should also plan for 17 hours per week of private study)

Progression
Entry to Degree programmes in Networking or IT Studies. Employment: Network Administrator, Technician.
