Summary

The course is designed to provide for managers and / or care support workers an
introduction to the basic skills required when caring for individuals who have
suffered (or are suffering) from neurological disorders and require care management and
rehabilitation.

Who should attend?

All support workers who provide or plan personal care to
individuals in all care settings – hospital, residential, day care or foster-care or
in the client’s own home.

Proposed Learner Outcomes - The worker must be able to

∇ Understand Aetiology of Strokes, MS, Parkinson’s and
Alzheimer’s disease.
∇ Understand the symptoms of each

∇ Understand methods of management

∇ Practice interventions in a supported environment

∇ Understand how to plan care in a person centred way
