Connecting Students, Research Activities

“The opportunity to work in a brain injury lab and apply neuroscience in a real-world setting has been incredibly rewarding and will prepare me well for future careers.”

-- Sarah Rapaport (T ’18, Neuroscience)

The DIBS Summer Neuroscience Program gives Duke undergraduates a “jump start” to their senior research theses. Dr. Thomas Newpher, Assistant Professor of the Practice of Psychology & Neuroscience, directs the program for DIBS. He also advises for Duke's Undergraduate Studies in Neuroscience program.

Bass Connections Brain & Society Theme

Duke’s Bass Connections program bridges the classroom and the real world, giving students a chance to roll up their sleeves and tackle complex societal problems alongside faculty from across Duke. DIBS administers Duke’s Bass Connections Brain & Society Theme, one of six program themes. Undergraduates, along with graduate students and postdoctoral associates, participate each year in interdisciplinary project teams under all six themes.
