Neuroscientists investigate the mind and brain – from neuropharmacology to consciousness – with applications from medicine to artificial intelligence.

The laboratory experience and research skills you gain on the course will place you in an excellent position to compete for research studentships at leading laboratories in the UK and around the world.

Graduate destinations
95% of students from the School of Life Sciences (excluding Chemistry) were in work or further study six months after graduating. Recent School of Life Sciences graduates have gone on to jobs including:

commissioning editor, Royal Society Of Chemistry
grants adviser, Wellcome Trust
postdoctoral researcher, Cancer Research UK.

You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above.
