The diploma in Travel and Tourism is an exciting new qualification which offers you a great opportunity to gain a valued qualification. Travel and tourism is a dynamic, fun and rewarding industry with people at its heart. The diploma in Travel and Tourism gives you a good insight into the industry, communication, teamwork and customer service giving you the skills you need for either work or university.

Content
Higher level is equivalent to 7 GCSE at A* to C and covers the following topics:
· UKâ€^and worldwide destinations
· Customer service
· Employment skills
· Travel and tourism organisations
· Promotion and sales.
You will also have the opportunity to complete 10 days work experience in your independent ABTA travel agency â€-Stamford Travelâ€
NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Resort Representatives
This additional specialist qualification explores the role of a resort representative at the airport, hotel and on transfers.

NCFE Level 2 Certificate for Airline Cabin Crew
These qualifications are endorsed by Thomas Cook. Thomas Cook will guarantee an interview for those students who successfully complete the qualification and meet their minimum entry requirements.

Progression/career opportunities
You may start your career in the travel and tourism industry working as a retail sales consultant, call centre advisor, resort representative or tourist information assistant. Alternatively you may take a job on an apprenticeship or continue your studies onto the Advanced Diploma in Travel and Tourism.

Screening
Students will also be screened (in the College) and must achieve literacy and numeracy at the level appropriate to the course.
