From October 1st 2019, doctors , nurses and midwives who have taken OET will no longer need to take an additional English language test (IELTS) when applying for their visa – OET will be sufficient.
This fully online course familiarises students with the exam skills, language skills, strategies, English vocabulary and grammatical structures needed to take the Occupational English Test (OET) for Nursing. Students will be trained in all sections of the exam and have the opportunity to carry out exam practice in cooperation with other students. Experienced OET tutors will monitor the course, taking part in online discussions and seminars, ensuring all students engage.

This fully online module familiarises students with the exam skills, language skills, strategies, English vocabulary and grammatical structures needed to take the Occupational English Test (OET) for . Students will be trained in all sections of the exam and have the opportunity to carry out exam practice in cooperation with other students.
The course is designed to be fully online, requiring no travel or presence at the University of Wolverhampton in the UK.
The course can be accessed on phones as well as PCs / laptops for the teaching input.
Students will have access to many University facilities eg; databases / journals.
In order to study online successfully we advise that students have access to the following:
- A laptop/PC:
- running Windows 8/10 or MacOS 10.12 or higher;
- with at least 2GB of memory;
- latest version of Google Chrome;
- access to install software on the laptop;
- 1024x768 or 1280x720 minimum resolution;
- 200 MB of free disk space;
- a broadband internet connection with a minimum of 2Mbps upload and download speeds;
- webcam, headphones and a microphone
1. Students will become familiar with all sections of the Occupational English Test.
2. Students will have the opportunity to practice and get feedback on all sections of the OET.
3. Students will improve their English communication skills for healthcare in order to prepare them to take the OET.

IELTS 6 or equivalent is advised as a minimum as this is an exam preparation course. Ideally, candidates will have a 6.5.

If you don’t want to take out a loan to pay your fees or if you aren’t eligible to receive a loan, you might want to take advantage of the University’s scheme to pay by instalments: see How to pay.
Gateway.Your employer, embassy or organisation can pay for your Tuition fees:
If your employer, embassy or organisation agrees to pay all or part of your tuition fees; the University will refer to them as your sponsor and will invoice them for the appropriate amount.
We must receive notification of sponsorship in writing as soon as possible, and before enrolment, confirming that the sponsor will pay your tuition fees.
Financial Hardship:
Students can apply to the Dennis Turner Opportunity Fund for help with course related costs however this cannot be used for fees or to cover general living costs.
