Every country in the world is struggling with a nutrition problem of some kind whether from malnutrition, obesity or a combination of these factors.
It is a topic that is rarely out of the media and we are constantly being encouraged to think more about our diet and its impact on our health and the wider environment. Our Nutrition degree will help you become part of the solution to these issues, opening doors to a diverse range of career opportunities, and turn your interest in food into a professional career.
Your studies will centre on the application of human nutrition, exploring nutrition, physiology and exercise alongside public health, food consumer behaviour and food handling and hygiene. Option modules enable you to tailor your learning to your interests.
Field trips, visiting industry speakers and placements help you to put your learning into action while studying.
Our teaching team have experience of teaching and research related to nutrition, dietary analysis, food, sport and health. They also act as consultants to food SMEs, NGOs, businesses and the wider health sector.
This course offers two specialist pathways.
Nutrition with Public Health BSc(Hons)
Nutrition with Sport and Exercise BSc(Hons)
Nutrition is a broad subject but our course will let you try out all of these areas and then choose one of these pathways midway through your second year or continue on the single-honours award.

Course content has been mapped against the Association for Nutrition (AfN) degree criteria.
