4 GCSEs at D Grade, a good grounding in English, Science and verbal and written communication skills will be beneficial. Prior work experience within the industry is desirable.

Course programme
There is a group interview, starting with a presentation all about Beauty Therapy level two. You will be required to write about yourself and the motivation you have for the industry and then have a one to one interview with the tutor discussing your individual attributes.
Interviews are usually 2 hour sessions.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
As a society we are becoming more aware of the need to take better care of ourselves. As a result there is an increasing demand for professional therapists. Beauty therapists are concerned with improving people's physical appearance and well being, either through offering treatments for the face and body to recommending special products. All students will attend 3 days a week. A high level of attendance is essential to achieve this course.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
Skills and knowledge that are needed to start a career in beauty. Subjects include: Key Skills, Cosmetic Make-up, Facial Massage Treatments, Lash and Brow treatments, Manicure and Pedicure and Waxing Techniques. All these subjects are supported with relevant Anatomy, Physiology and assignment work. The emphasis during the course is on developing the theory and practical skills, which students will gain working with clients. Reception duties will also be an essential part of this.

HOW WILL I LEARN?
The course has been designed so that students control their pace of learning. Students have assignments, oral questions and independent assessment written papers to support each relevant area of learning. This will be proof that students have mastered a particular aspect of the trade. Course involves group work, research and role plays. Students will have at least one work placement/experience during the course.

WHAT CAN THIS COURSE LEAD TO?
Successful students can progress to Level 3 or Holistic Therapies by interview. Typical employment prospects in the beauty industry will include: Airlines, Beauty Therapist at a salon, Cruise ships, Health farms, Television and Theatre, Make-up Artistry.

Students over 19 will be responsible for paying £1573.00 approximately for tuition and £71.00 for exam fee.
