Course programme


Candidates normally progress to this award by means of their organisational experience, role and responsibilities. This qualification is often taken by team leaders whose primary qualifications are not in management but who have moved into a first line management role.

This programme has been designed for people who lead a team and are responsible for the team's performance.

Course Structure

The mandatory units will enable you to-
  • Manage your own resources
  • Provide leadership for your team
  • Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
  • Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health & safety.
Depending on the options chosen this programme will enable you to:
  • Encourage innovation in your team
  • Allocate and check work in your team
  • Provide learning opportunities
  • Resolve customer service problems
  • Support customer service improvements.
On successful completion of this programme you may wish to progress to the Level 3 NVQ in Management.

Assessment

You will be expected to work through the learning materials at your own pace. It is important to set yourself targets to make sure that you progress steadily through the award. We recognise that you will have a lot of experience and the programme will help you reflect on your own practice. Your assessor will support you by checking your progress with the learning materials and assessing your practice in the workplace. You will have a portfolio of evidence which includes records of your observations, activities and supporting materials.

Cost

£574 tuition fees plus £95 registration & £5 materials.

Grants may be available to cover all or some of the costs.
