Suitable for: Suitable for candidates who are post BSL 2 standard and are confident signers and require no further language development before undertaking this course.

Sylvia is an experienced tutor in all levels of BSL. She has recently acheived her NVQ4 in BSL Qualification and is currently undertaking her A1 training programme. Since April 2010 she has been in the position of Head of Training at Sign Solutions.

Course programme

There are a maximum of 12 places available on this training programme. The training programme will run for seven days.

This NVQ3 BSL qualification has two units, a ‘production’ unit and a ‘receptive unit’, thus with the support from qualified and experienced assessors, you will be given guidance on building up a portfolio of written & video evidence of your ability to sign at BSL Level 3.

Candidates for this qualification must be able to demonstrate competence at Level 3 of the National Language Standards. This means that they will be able to understand and express information, ideas and opinions about a variety of subjects, and deal with a range of work tasks.

The programme is open to Deaf and hearing applicants. Applicants are expected to be functioning at ‘post Level 2 BSL’ and will be assessed prior to being offered a place.

Thursday’s commencing on 14th April 2011 with the final session on 10th November 2011. Times for the sessions: 10:00-1700.

Programme fee: £1,350 + vat. Fees include a buffet lunch.

Initial Assessments for both the Level 3 programmes will take place on Wednesday 9th and Tuesday 22nd February 2011.
