This qualification is a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) and is part of the Apprenticeship framework developed by Summit Skills. NVQs encourage an employee to value their contribution to the workplace, and develop their skills and potential. It is recognised by the Joint Industry Board (JIB) for grading. This qualification requires occupational evidence.
You should have the potential to achieve the units selected within this qualification. Learners must have the minimum levels of literacy and numeracy to comply with the health and safety aspects of the scheme, the completion of the learning outcomes and the assessments.
The qualification is for those who wish to become a competent electrician. Those who wish to pursue a career in the electrotechnical/building services sector learners undertaking Summit Skills Apprenticeship frameworks.

Final assessment will be via the AM2 Trade test at an independant test centre (not included in price of the NVQ)
Candidates will be allocated an assessor who will remain in constant contact for the duration of the qualification to advise on the evidence required and how to compile the portfolio of evidence
The candidate will be requested to attend the centre on specific dates to complete underpinning knowledge in prepaaration for the end of unit exam
