.National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are qualifications which
assess your ability to work to these standards. Once you have completed the NVQ, you can be sure that employers will understand and value your qualification.

To achieve the NVQ Level 3 in Nail Services you must complete seven
units, five core units and two optional units chosen by the College from a wider list.

The topics you will study include:

· Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
· Promote additional products or services to clients
· Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business
· Enhance the appearance of natural nails using artificial nail systems
· Maintain, repair and enhance artificial nail structures.

You will be given the opportunity to achieve additional qualifications
alongside your main course. These will include Functional Skills and can also include more specialist awards that are relevant to the subject you are studying.

Extra opportunities

There will be a variety of additional opportunities for you to develop skills for current trends within the beauty industry for example ear piercing and tanning. You will also have the opportunity to enter the world skills competition and to showcase your skills at the end of year celebration show.

How will I be assessed?
Assessments are carried out through practical skills tests, observations of you working, assignments and projects. You will be able to test your practical skills and knowledge in our commercial clinics.
