The programme is a mix of practical and theory work and you will be shown how the theory relates to the practical work you do. There are six units of study: three mandatory and three support units.
Mandatory evidence routes:
Working safely in an engineering environment
Working efficiently and effectively in engineering
Using and communicating technical information.
Support evidence routes:
Preparing and using lathes for turning operations
Producing components using hand fitting techniques
Producing mechanical engineering drawings using a CAD system.

About this course
You will attend two and a half days a week for 35 weeks over one year, from 9am-5pm. You should also bring a notebook and pen for the first lesson.

Course programme
A Performing Engineering Operations NVQ Level 2 programme.
The way to achieve on this programme is by completing all the knowledge questions in the candidate portfolio for each of the six units and the practical assignments. Your work will be assessed and marked by your tutor on a regular basis and you will be given feedback on how you are progressing.
An assessment plan will be developed to assist you in successfully completing the programme.
