Course programme
A course starting in September to build upon the knowledge and skills acquired in the level 2 course. You will learn a wide variety of gents cuts and also shaving.
You will study and be assessed on eight units:
- health and safety,
- advise and consult,
- cutting hair into basic shape,
- cutting facial hair into shape,
- dry and finish men's hair,
- shampoo, condition and treat hair,
- create basic patterns,
- promote additional services.
Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications required.
A commitment and dedication to the course is essential and applicants must be enthusiastic and passionate about their chosen career path and to be able to present a professional image.
Applicants should attend an open evening to understand the nature of the course and also have the opportunity to ask questions.
The open evening will be held at Huddersfield on:
- Monday 4th July 2016 (17:00-19:30)

- Barbering kit (£134) order forms will be available at the open evening
- Female students will be expected to purchase a college uniform (order forms available at the open evening) – tunic and trousers £34
- Male students will be expected to wear smart black trousers, black shoes and a black or white t-shirt (long- or short-sleeved)
- You will be required to study for English and Maths if you do not already have grade C or above passes in both (16-18 year olds; 19+ can be exempt)
