Who is this course for?
This advanced level course offers learners the opportunity to extend their hairdressing skills to prepare for work as a stylist in the hairdressing industry. Building on the intermediate level programmes, the course will provide learners with a good understanding of a range of advanced hairdressing treatments and enable the development of skills which will ideally prepare for progression into employment. For learners who are between 16 and 18 years of age, In addition to your vocational programme, you will study English and maths (either functional skills or GCSE). The level of English and maths you will study is related to the GCSE grades gained whilst at school.
What other experience will I gain?
As part of the programme you will work on various projects such as photo shoots, session styling for annual fashion shows, participation in external competitions as well as trips to external events / trade shows. Working in the commercial salons here at the college, you will also gain valuable experience which will prepare you for progression into further studies in this or related areas or employment within the hairdressing industry.
