Course Content: This is the NVQ content of the electro-technical scheme. It is designed to allow operatives to prove competence in the installation of electro-technical systems.

It allows an operative to apply having met other external criteria for grading under the JIB grading system.

The course is designed around a log book proving competence in the installation, testing and commissioning of electo-technical systems.

It is operated on a drop in basis as and when help and guidance is required by the tutor.

Special Features: The course is run by very experienced staff with a working knowledge of the NVQ system and the electro-technical industry.

Course Format: Drop in basis offered one evening per week 5.00-8.00 (Thursday)

Progression: Allows an operative having met other external stipulations to apply for JIB grading allowing a wider scope of employment opportunities with JIB registered companies.

Entry Requirement:
The candidate must be qualified to Electro-technical 2330 level three or 2360 part two standard. Must be working in the trade carrying out the work of an electrician, with around five years traceable works experience. The work carried out by the candidate should encompass domestic, commercial and/or industrial installations.
The candidate must be able to provide written confirmation of the above from their previous or current employer. The candidate must have full approval from their current employer to undertake the qualification as employer involvement is required.
The candidate ideally should have a current 17th edition BS7671 qualification (2382-10 or 2382-20). The testing and inspection qualification 2391-10 would be a great advantage but is not mandatory.
