Sentinel training is fully accredited by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and are full members of the Institute of Conflict Management. Sentinel Training are also approved by City and Guilds and are licensed to conduct Security Industry Authority (SIA) training within the United Kingdom.

Ocean Protections Services and Sentinel Training Operations are pleased to announce the launch of their Ship Security Officer (SSO) and Anti-Piracy training package.

The SSO course runs for three days and provides students with an internationally recognised qualification. The final day of the course will also include a FREE Anti-Piracy module designed to assist potential security consultants with an insight into the Anti-Piracy and security team operations in the high risk area.

Subjects covered on the Ship Security Officer (SSO) Course include (but are not limited to) the following:
The principles of international maritime security
The SSO security responsibilities
Explore the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code
Understand the current threats against maritime vessels
Conduct an in-depth Ship Security Assessment (SSA)
Devise and maintain Ship Security Plans (SSP)
Security administration
General security training
Appreciate and understand the various security levels
Develop and maintain measures for controlled access to a vessel
Conduct ship security and associated risk assessments
Implement effective search mechanisms and security controls
Threat, identification, recognition and response
Ship security actions
Ship personnel with security duties
Anti-piracy weapons and countermeasures
As well as MCA accredited courses we are proud to announce our Anti-Piracy crew training package. This has been designed to ensure crew members and their vessel are best prepared before entering High Risk and piracy prone waters. This is currently being run as a combined package with our SSO course and is FREE!
