About this course

Identifying and applying the relevant standards in a sensible manner to the various situations that arise in the company's day-to-day activities, regardless of the sector that is affected by the provisions.
Properly pinpointing and interpreting the financial and legal scope in each of these situations, noticing their interrelationships and the effects they have on the company or its shareholders.
Understanding and being able to develop and interpret the main legal documents involved in the company's daily operations.
Understanding and employing accounting and financial statement preparation and analysis techniques as well as basic management tools.
Acting in accordance with the legal professional code of ethics.
Enhancing the students' ability to write reports and opinions, both individually and in groups, as well as making presentations to audiences and defending their own arguments.

The program is designed for university graduates who wish to enter the labor market to engage in the legal profession in the area of business law.

Holding a licentiate or equivalent degree, having completed a minimum of 180 ECTS credits of legal subjects;
Having a solid academic record;
Providing proof of a high level of English, particularly in the field of law, as some of the subjects of this program may be taught in English.

The Official Master's Degree in Corporate Law provides students with a privileged professional training in greater depth than other Licentiate and Bachelor's Degree programs, since it addresses legal matters from a perspective that focuses on the financial and business applications of law, helping students to better understand business in the corporate world.

The special emphasis placed on the professional practice of Law is endorsed by the high employability of our graduates, who take up positions in some of the most prestigious professional firms, as well as in legal advisory teams in major companies. This Master's program seeks to cater to the need for specialized training required by the law firms, legal consulting firms, brokers and government agencies working in the field of business, demanding, increasingly, that students are trained with greater capacity for response, greater expertise and agility in handling of resources and tools, stimulating critical and original thinking, as well as better empowerment generally for the exercise of the profession.

The admission application period opens in January and ends on September 22 (subject to places being available).

The teaching methodology applied with a view to achieving the above objectives combines classes, specialized seminars and workshops. As evidenced by the learning objectives identified, the program aims not only for the students to acquire knowledge but also for them to be able to conduct their professional duties with rigor and excellence. To do so, the teaching is eminently practical and focused on fostering teamwork.
Contact hours with the lecturer are supplemented with self-study hours, where the students have the opportunity to engage in guided reading assignments based on a list of resources provided by the lecturer, class preparation, writing assignments and making oral presentations.

The students must pass assessments covering the study program through a mixed evaluation system. On the one hand, the lecturers in charge of each of the subjects assess whether the student has achieved the subject's learning objectives. This evaluation takes place throughout the Master's program by means of continuous assessment and/or examinations, with the aim to verify that the student has fully grasped the module content and developed the specific competencies associated to it. On the other hand, the student must pass a final examination that consists of a series of elements from the different subjects integrated into an essay or research paper based on which oral, written and practical exercises will be conducted. This examination is assessed by a mixed tribunal composed of faculty members from Comillas Pontifical University and from a public university. Both assessment parts contribute in equal measure to the final grade of the Master's program.
