Course programme
Our Adaptation course is not a traditional one. It is a bespoke set of lectures and clinical practice tailored to the needs of the applicant and based on the recommendations of the General Optical Council. It has been created to support practising optometrists from within the EU/EEA region, who want to work as optometrists in the UK.
You will have a personalised timetable combining theoretical lectures and practical clinical sessions, along with regular tutorials and supervision. Dependent on assessment by the General Optical Council, topics may include:
- clinical optometry
- pharmacology and pathology
- ocular disease
- binocular and paediatric vision.
You will be required to complete your timetabled sessions in full, along with a log book, to meet the requirements of the course.
