Description
This is an advanced initial degree in Osteopathy. Students successfully completing it will gain a Master’s level qualification which will:
Give the skills and competences necessary to become a registered osteopath
Develop self-confidence and apply knowledge for practice within a safe environment
Promote evidence based practice, personal and professional development
Small student cohorts allowing for a personal learning experience. Modules explore the structure and function of the human body and include psychology.
Clinical skills are rehearsed and simulated in the laboratory, enabling students to develop self-confidence and put their knowledge into practice in a safe environment.
Our fully functional Osteopathic Clinic is staffed by associate staff members who are qualified, practising Osteopaths. Students benefit from guest speakers who provide advice on business start-ups for those who wish to open their own practice.
A unique initiative between the University and Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University (ABMU) Health Board provides gives final year Osteopathy students the chance to work in an integrated NHS setting off campus.
The University’s Academic Success Programme offers complementary study skills courses to help students maximise their potential.

A-Levels/Welsh Baccalaureate*: BBB including at least one in a biological science
ACCESS: 27D, 15M, 3P.
BTEC: DDD
Irish leaving certificate: 360
International Baccalaureate: 32
*We welcome applications from Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Diploma students. Requirements are as for A-levels where you can substitute the same non-subject specific grade for the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Level Core Grade.
GCSE profiles need to include a minimum of 5 passes at Grade A*-C, including Welsh/English Language, Maths and Science.
