Skills and experience gained The skills you learn will enable you to turn your ideas into actual projects. You will develop the ability to work in groups and on your own while exploring a wide range of interconnected disciplines. These include cinematography, audio and visual effects, editing, sound design, lighting, scriptwriting, directing, producing, music videos, live news, live magazine programmes, television drama and radio. Alongside your practical study, you will learn the key themes and issues in television. Then, in your final year, you will put it all together in a major piece of independent work. During this course you will: Practice your skills in a dedicated multi-camera TV studio equipped with all the latest technologies, have access to fully-equipped rehearsal space, video editing suites, radio studios, professional galleries and more, enjoy the opportunity to participate in and contribute to media related conferences in the division, benefit from strong professional links within the course - enabling you to build professional contacts and experience. You will be supported by academic tutors who are currently working within the media. You will be able to take advantage of chances to work with professional TV performers and presenters, complete collaborative projects with Media Performance students and Journalism students, receive visits from leading figures in many areas of media and participate in field trips to relevant events, companies and organisations.
