S P Care Phlebotomy Training is led by Mr Davies Consultant, and a team of Health care professionals.
Phlebotomists are specialised clinical support workers/assistant healthcare scientists who collect blood from patients for examination in laboratories, the results of which, provide valuable information to diagnosing illness.
Demand for phlebotomists is on the rise. In fact, an analysis of healthcare jobs over the past year revealed almost 6,000 vacant positions for phlebotomists. In addition, the field is expected to grow as much as 19 percent through 2020
Theory training is delivered from our Consulting Medical Rooms while practical training is delivered in a NHS Clinic.
Part 1- Theory Training includes understanding of the basics of Phlebotomy.legal aspects of Phlebotomy, Infection control, Health and Safety You will also practice on a mannequin. On completion this leads to receiving a Certificate of Attendance. It also includes registration, all the course materials, refreshments/lunch
Part 2- Practical training includes Live Blood Sessions. This is the practical part of the training and it takes place at an NHS Phlebotomy clinic.. Candidates take blood from real patients under the supervision of a trainer and receive an NHS Certificate of Competence at the completion of this part of the training.
