The PADI Rescue Diver Course is an ideal way of building your confidence in both your ability, as a diver, and to prevent, (by gaining more experience of your visual surroundings as you dive), and to respond to possible problems that may occur, and to make you aware of good dive management. This Rescue Diver Course is taught at our pool training sessions at Colchester Leisure World, and is an excellent way of making you a more safety conscious diver for yourself, and others around you, and a better Buddy too whilst increasing your understanding of diving!

The PADI Rescue Diver course taught in Essex will expand your knowledge and experience beyond the purely recreational level because you'll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence and it is one of our favorite courses to teach here at Essex School of Diving. we take great personal pride in getting our Rescue Divers to a higher level of awareness when it comes to diving. By teaching you techniques that enable you to respond in a professional manner to potential problems and scenarios.
What will I do during my lesson, dive and course time?
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you'll cover many aspects of Rescue scenarios and successful complete the skills to control them, these include:
• Self-rescue and diver stress
• Dive first aid
• Emergency management and equipment
• Swimming and non-swimming assists
• Panicked diver response
• Underwater problems
• Missing diver procedures
• Surfacing the unconscious diver
• In water artificial respiration
• Egress (exits)
• First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
• Dive accident scenarios
How long will the Rescue Diver training take at Essex School of Diving?
The recommended course study time is 25 hours. The minimum Open Water training dives will consist of five sessions over two days, however this may be extended to help you meet the performance requirements.
What will I need to enable me to get this PADI Certification?
You will need a PADI Rescue Diver manual and Crew-Pak (provided for you in the course cost) and a PADI Rescue Diver video or DVD which is available for you to hire from us.
Where can I go from here in terms of continuing diving?
The PADI Rescue Diver certification is a prerequisite for all Professional level PADI courses, beginning with the PADI Divemaster certification. You can continue your journey into the fascinating and exciting world of scuba diving by developing your skills with Essex School of Diving in Essex.
