Course programme
Paediatric emergencies are, by their very nature, incidents that require calm, safe and effective action. Giving first aid and coping with the emergency can be both frightening and stressful, especially when the child is not your own.
Factors which often determine the outcome of the situation and which increase the chances of survival for the child, are the immediacy and quality of the emergency aid given, prior the arrival of professional assistance. Without this treatment the child could rapidly deteriorate and could even, tragically, die before assistance arrives. It must therefore become the responsibility of all child carers to ensure that they are able to deal with any emergency situation until help becomes available.
This course is designed for Parents, Teachers and Child Carers who look after children. The course will teach vital life saving skills should a child collapse or have airway and/or breathing difficulties.
