Painting In Watercolour

Beginners with no basic knowledge of Watercolour painting are welcome It is also able to accept those with some experience of Watercolour painting and who wish to extend their knowledge. Students are likely to find a group of people with mixed ability on the course.

A practical course designed to introduce you to the techniques of Watercolour painting. The aim of this course is to improve your ability to draw and paint when applicable to various subjects.

The course will include observing and using proportions to draw, theory of colour, rendering of light and shade to create form etc. Subjects are dealt with over a minimum of a two week period by means of discussions, tutor demonstrations and students practical work. These subjects will be selected by the tutor from landscapes/seascapes, still life, portrait/figures, birds/animals, flowers. Beyond the first week students should have their own reference material relating to the set subject.

Please bring watercolour paper, watercolour paints, water pot, palette, pencil and rubber. Please bring with you your Student ID card, Learning Agreement and Invoice.

The course content may vary according to which tutor is teaching this course, also the content may be adapted to meet the needs of the class.

No formal assessment. Tutor feedback on students work will take place during each lesson. This will be carried out on a one to one basis to give help and advice in a positive friendly manner.
