LEARNING OUTCOMES ASSESSMENT CRITERIA (Understanding, skills, knowledge to be learned) (Standards of achievement against which outcomes will be measured) The learner will be able to: The learner has achieved this because (s)he can: 1. Recognise key responsibilities of
parenthood.
1.1 Identify at least 3 key responsibilities of being a parent. 2. Recognise changes which
parenthood brings.
2.1 State the main areas of change when becoming a parent (e.g. material,
relationships, routine).
2.2 Identify the effects of changes in 2 areas.
3. Recognise strategies to cope with
parenthood.
3.1 Identify main coping strategies used in being a parent.
3.2 Identify appropriate coping strategies in at least 2 given scenarios
4. Understand the role of the childcare
services and childcare workers.
4.1 Identify at least 2 agencies or services available to assist families meet
their needs.
4.2 State the roles of 2 different types of childcare workers.
5. Recognise how to access childcare
services
5.1 Produce a simple directory of telephone numbers for at least 5 childcare
services.
5.2 Simulate the use of a telephone to contact a childcare service.
