Gearing up your Professional Image
The Northern Logistics Academy is a logistics and transport training specialist, based in the Northwest of England, delivering sector specific training and qualifications. We are JAUPT approved for the delivery of Driver CPC periodic training courses.
If you drive a lorry, bus or coach as the main part of your job, it is a legal requirement that you must hold the full Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
To gain this you must do either 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years or, 7 hours training per year in order to maintain your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.

Course programme
The workshop identifies the importance of teamwork and ensures you understand the roles you may undertake within teams and be able to work with others towards achieving shared objectives. Modules include:
- The Importance of Communication: focuses on all of the critical elements of communication, enabling you to understand the importance of good communication, to have knowledge of the communication process and the theory behind communication.
- Creating a Professional Image: understand the importance of your public relations role and raise awareness of the key interpersonal skills which is the essential key to your success.
- Managing Your Time: identifies practical exercises and examination of proven time management tools and techniques the course will give you the ability to plan and prioritise effectively.
- A significant work/life balance: creating and maintaining supportive and healthy work environments, which will enable to have balance between work and personal responsibilities as a driver and thus strengthen employee loyalty and productivity.
- Building a Positive Attitude as a Driver: identifying the importance of attitude in the role of an employee, the impact of a negative attitude and how to maintain a positive attitude.
- Driving Teamwork: covers the importance and fundamentals of teamwork within the logistics industry covering where conflict can occur and the main teams that you as an employee will come across.
