Career Prospects and Progression

Successful learners will be qualified to assess and provide feedback for competency-based qualifications within their field of occupational competence. The A2 unit is also an option unit of the NVQ Levels 3 and 4 Learning and Development qualification which includes the design of learning programmes and mentoring of learners. Assessors may choose to progress to the A1 Assessor, V1 Internal Verifier awards and/or the full Learning and Development NVQ.

Modules

The unit consists of 4 elements: Agreeing and reviewing plans for assessing candidate's performance Assessing candidate's performance against the agreed standards Assessing candidates knowledge against the agreed standards Making an assessment decision and giving feedback

Method of Assessment

Assessment is based on observation, evidence collected by candidates at their workplace, witness testimonials and professional discussion, all presented in a portfolio of evidence.
