Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, but applicants will need to demonstrate reasonable numeracy and literacy skills before starting the qualification.

Suitable For

The Association of Accounting Technicians is the largest professional body for qualified Accounting Technicians/people employed in a variety of accountancy and finance roles.

At Foundation Stage students are expected to achieve competence which involves the application of accounting knowledge in a significant range of work activities, performed in a variety of contexts. Some activities are complex or non-routine and there is some individual responsibility.

The course covers the following units:

Unit 1 Recording Income and Payments

Unit 2 Marketing and Recording Payments

Unit 3 Prepare Ledger Balances and Initial Trial Balance

Unit 4 Supplying Information for Marketing Control

Unit 21 Working with Computers

Unit 22 Health and Safety at Work

Unit 23 Achieving Personal Effectiveness

Method of Assessment

There are two types of assessment:

• Simulations
  Evidence from the workplace, simulations of real work activities.
• Compter Based examination
  You will sit a computer-based examination at the College; the results are known the same day.

Progression

On successful completion of the AAT NVQ2 Foundation Stage, students may wish to progress onto other AAT related courses such as AAT NVQ3 Intermediate Stage (also offered by Grantham College).
