Course description
This course covers: Maintaining Financial Records, Evaluating Costs and Revenues and Preparing Reports and Returns, including VAT and spreadsheets. Requirements for direct entry at this level: AAT Foundation or manual double-entry book-keeping skills and relevant work experience. Part day/evening attendance is possible. Fee includes textbooks and skills tests but not AAT membership or exam fees payable direct to the AAT.

Final award
Students compile a portfolio of evidence for assessment throughout the course using workplace evidence or AAT simulations. In June students take two exams in Maintaining Financial Records and Recording and Evaluating Costs and Revenues which are set and marked by the AAT. On successful completion of the course a NVQ3 Accounting certificate will be awarded by the AAT.

Entry requirements
Students should possess either AAT Foundation Level or have sound double entry knowledge. Students without AAT Foundation level must check their suitability with the tutor prior to enrolment.
Remission of fees is possible in some cases: if you are on benefits, under 19 years of age or if you do not alrady have a full Level 2 qualification. Please enquire for further information

On successful completion of this course students can progress to the AAT Technician Level NVQ 4 Accounting.

Homework will be set every week, the amount of time this will take will vary depending on the students ability, previous knowledge and speed of working. On average between 3 to 5 hours should be allowed for this.
