Students are expected to achieve at least 90% attendance throughout the course. Attendance which falls below this may result in the qualification not being awarded. It is important that students have a mature and professional attitude as the beauty profession is a highly demanding and disciplined one. Personal appearance and professional appearance must be of the highest standard throughout the course.

An ability to undertake home study on a regular basis is essential; this is necessary for the anatomy and physiology content and also for research for class based activities.

Students should also be prepared to volunteer for extra curricular enrichment such as helping in college events e.g. open days, fashion shows, the Royal Norfolk Show and other off site activities.

Work placements in salons can be arranged for students showing motivation, but a part time job in a salon would be most beneficial to the students and would be encouraged by the staff.
