  • Stresses in the sports horse
  • Statistics and experimental design
  • Horse breeding management
  • Equine health management
  • Behaviour and psychology

A choice of:
  • Equine exercise physiology
  • Equine rehabilitation and therapy

Year 3
  • Thesis
  • Equine sports medicine
  • Advanced animal behaviour
  • Advanced animal nutrition
  • Biomechanics

A choice of:
  • Pharmacology or Advanced reproductive techniques
  • Equine microbiology and immunology or Applied alternative therapies

You will also be given the opportunity to take part in a European study tour to gain a further insight into the wider aspects of the industry.

Assessment Method
Coursework (written assignments, reports and presentations) as well as end of unit examinations.

Progression Routes
Successful students may progress onto a related MSc or PhD programme. Alternatively, the programme provides students with the necessary skills to take advantage of opportunities within nutrition, nutraceuticals, rehabilitation, lecturing, welfare, breeding technology, bloodstock agency, pharmacology and biomechanics.
