There are no formal entry requirements but an enthusiasm to working creatively with computer programmes is required. However if you do not have some skills in digital image making it is recommended that you apply for the level 2 Award in Photography first.

What will I study?
To achieve the whole qualification, you must successfully complete the following two specialist units, Digital Image, Capture & Editing: The use of digital scanning equipment, Using appropriate image-conversion processes and Editing digital images. Image Manipulation, Computer Applications: A study of digital image manipulation techniques in others? work, The preparation and digitising of source materials and Production of work using suitable image manipulation.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through mainly practical with some written assignments. All units are internally assessed and externally moderated with a grade for the qualification awarded.

Students will be encouraged to achieve a balance between technical skills and creativity. Skills learned in this unit can be applied to virtually any field and aspect of art and design practice.
