Summary:

It should be noted that although this course is called "Mechatronics" the qualification gained is a HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. However, the Optional Units offered have been chosen to make the course particularly relevant to someone working in a Process Industry. The course is designed for Engineering Technicians working in Process Industries (e.g. Food, Oil / Gas or Manufacturing etc.). It extends the knowledge of those who have achieved a BTEC National Engineering qualification.

For someone who has done A levels in Maths and Physics it could be used as an intermediate step towards an Engineering or Process Control Degree course. The course would be useful to such a person wanting to move into a Process Control career.

Two years

Course Schedule:
One day a week

Entry Requirements:

BTEC NC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, a BTEC in NC Operations and Maintenance Engineering or A levels in Maths and Physics.

Alternatively, appropriate experience if single modules are required.

Academic Progression:
After the course you may decide to "Top-up" the qualification to a HND. Alternatively, you may be able to progress to a Degree course or continue your career
