Part Time BTEC HND in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing)

Course Description:
This programme is ideal for those students wishing to convert an Engineering HNC into a HND of the same title.

Programme Content
You will already have a HNC made up of ten units. This one year course offers the additional six units required for conversion to a HND. Students are able to choose from a selection of optional units, the subjects chosen will depend on the units previously taken at HNC and the interests of the student.

It is recommended that those students who intend to continue their studies beyond HND to degree level take the optional unit of additional mathematics called Further Analytical Methods for Engineers.

We offer a choice of two streams, either Mechanical or Manufacturing.

The six fixed core units in Mechanical Engineering are:

  • Business Management Techniques (HNC)
  • Engineering Science (HNC)
  • Analytical Methods (HNC)
  • Project (HNC)
  • Mechanical Principles (HNC)
  • Engineering Design (HNC)

The seven fixed core units in Manufacturing Engineering are:
