This course provides learners with the underpinning knowledge and skills to undertake work as a technician in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and provides a progression route to Higher Education.

Project
Both theoretical and practical aspects of these subjects are studied by relating them to industrial applications where possible.
All students on technician courses undertake case studies which have been designed to develop the personal skills that are necessary for a career in the electronic engineering industry. These skills include communications, mathematics and information technology.
The department has close contact with local industry and relevant advice is sought and used in the development of courses so that the subjects studied and the case studies used relate to the vocational requirements of the industry.
Assessment/Exams
Assessment is continuous and is based on assignments and tests, with end of year examinations in certain subjects.
Progression/Career Path
On successful completion of the National Certificate students have the option of continuing either a BTEC HND/HNC or applying for a University Engineering Degree course.
