Who is this course for?

A properly implemented programme of risk assessments assists in the prevention of injuries, fatalities, property damage incidents and other losses. Employers have a legal duty to make suitable and sufficient assessments of the risks to the health and safety of employees, non-employees and the self employed. Candidates will be competent in conducting risk assessments through, knowledge, experience, skills and personal qualities. Supervisors or Managers who are responsible for conducting risk assessments should attend this course. It is also beneficial to individual workers, team leaders, technicians, engineers or any other personnel contributing to the risk assessment process.

Successful completion of the training programme, assignment and self evaluation will enable candidates to contribute to risk assessment programmes within the workplace, conduct risk assessment, organise and implement a risk assessment programme where this has not already been started, participate in the identification of specific training needs for the activities being assessed, assist employers in meeting legal requirements and promote improved standards of health and safety within their organisation, be informed on the relevant legislation and documentation involved with regards to risk assessment, know the principles and practises involved, be able to prioritise the levels of risks and be able to put in place controls in order to stop risks taking place, and monitor these controls.
