Course Description: The aim of this programme is to provide students with the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to enhance and develop a career, specialising in the repair and maintenance of small, medium and heavy construction plant, tools and materials handling and equipment. Evidence produced can be used to support a NVQ Award Level 2 Foundation Modern Apprenticeship.

  Welding and Fabrication Techniques and Handling and Moving Loads
  

There is also the opportunity to obtain evidence towards essential Key Skills as required by Employers and Training Providers.

Entry Requirements:

• Although no formal entry qualifications are necessary, applicants must possess a good standard of education, enthusiasm and commitment to pursue a career in the Construction Plant Equipment and/or Tool Hire Industries.
• The ability to read, interpret and follow written and oral instructions, work with numbers and produce written tasks is desirable, together with a strong desire to perform 'hands-on' practical work.
