Course Details

The BTEC Level 2 Award is a specialist programme of study that allows learners to focus on a particular chosen area. The qualification is designed to be work-related and will develop a specific set of practical skills and associated knowledge. The course is made up of two specialist units, Graphic Materials, Techniques and Processes and Computers in Graphic Design, which you must successfully complete in order to achieve the qualification. All units will be assessed and individually graded as 'pass', 'merit' or 'distinction'.

An interest in graphic design and creative computer applications and/or a related level 1 qualification

Additional info:
Students may need to provide some basic materials and some costs will be incurred if work is printed using college facilities. Students will need access to a memory stick in order to save work digitally. Due to the nature of the activity, informal one to one guidance is preferred to ensure correct entry onto courses. Therefore please contact the Art and Design Office directly.

Progression:
This qualification can provide a good grounding to progress to a full time option of the National Diploma in Graphic Design or OCN Diploma (Art and Design)
