This course is intended for those who don't have English as their first language or those who want to improve their English skills and gain a qualification.

There are no entry requirements but you will have an induction and an assessment before you enrol for a class. All students complete a Speaking and Listening qualification before progressing to Reading and Writing. Classes start in at various points throughout the year. Please note there may be a waiting list for places.

In this course you will get the chance to work both as part of a group and as an individual. You will be studying through a variety of teaching methods, including explanation of language, discussions, presentations, authentic reading texts and exam practice.

What you will study
Speaking and Listening classes are available at all levels
Reading or Writing classes are available at E1, E2 and E3
The speaking and listening classes will help you develop confidence with your verbal communication and you will practise making requests, conversation, discussion and giving presentations (when studying at Level 1 and 2).
The reading and writing classes will help you develop reading for meaning and accuracy, looking for implicit meaning in texts, writing a range of texts, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
