Face & Skin Conditioning Electrotherapy Certificate
This is a part time intensive course of twenty-four weeks designed for people who already possess a full level 2 qualification and who would like to broaden their skill base by achieving competence in facial machine therapies. This unit will enhance the beauty therapy level 2 qualification, enabling the candidate to offer a wider skill base to any perspective employer. It leads to a unit only of a level 3 qualification awarded by City and Guilds.

Course Content:

• Anatomy and physiology (all systems are required to a level 3 standard)
• Benefits and effects of each machine
• Client consultation
• Direct and indirect high frequency
; Galvanic iontophoresis and desincrustation; Micro-current; Vacuum suction; EMS
• Homecare advice
• Health and safety (additional assessed unit will be required if not achieved within the last three years)
• Ranges are completed for each facial machine with supporting treatment plan
• Relevant underpinning knowledge

Kit/Uniform:
A uniform is compulsory for this course in accordance with Industry Codes of Practice. The College dress code for this course is a white tunic, white trousers and flat enclosed black or white shoes. Other kit details will be discussed at the first class. Information on suppliers will be sent out with joining instructions.

Entry Requirements:

• Applicants should hold a level 2 Qualification
• Applicants should be able to demonstrate a satidfactory level of lieracy and numeracy
. Some home study is required to complete the knowledge essential for this unit; this will depend on your entry qualifications.

Entry Process:
Acceptance on the course will be determined by telephone interview.

Assessment:
Learners will undertake the following:
• Written assignments
• Practical assessments for each machine


Progression Routes:
Students may wish to undertake other part time NVQ units.
