The aim of this intensive part time course is to provide the learner with the knowledge and skills needed to improve and maintain facial skin condition.

• Facial massage
• Facial products
• Homecare advice
• Mask treatments
• Personal appearance, health and hygiene
• Relevant anatomy and physiology
• Skin analysis and interpreting the results
• Skin types and conditions
• Skin warming
• Underpinning knowledge

Kit/Uniform:
Kit costs are in the region of 30. A uniform is compulsory for this course in accordance with Industry Codes of Practice. The College dress code for this course is a white tunic or dress, white trousers or skirt and flat enclosed black or white shoes. Information on suppliers will be sent out with joining instructions.

Entry Requirements:
Prior knowledge and experience of the subject is desirable.

Entry Process:
Acceptance on the course will be determined by telephone interview.

Assessment:
Learners will undertake written papers and practical assessments during the course. A final portfolio of work, based around a given workbook will need to be submitted for proof of competence.

Progression Routes:
Students may wish to progress onto other NVQ Units of Level 2 Beauty Therapy.
