Who is this course for?

Key features of this course include industrial practice and placement units with the course providing entry to the BSc Honours Architectural Technology Degree. This course is designed to enable you to find employment within the construction industry in middle-line management.

The units undertaken include:

• Surveying
• Construction Technology
• Building Services
• Introduction to CAD and IT
• Design Principles
• Law
• Construction Contract

Students will undertake a supervised work placement of approximately six months at the end of year one.

2 years full-time or 3 years part-time

How will I be assessed? Assessment is carried out on a regular basis throughout the programme using a range of appropriate methods such as written and practical assignments, projects, case studies, presentations and work placement.
What can I do after the course?

Competent construction students are highly valued by industry and part time employment is encouraged and popular whilst studying for a Foundation Degree. This course provides entry qualifications for progression to the Honours Degree in Architectural Technology at the University of Ulster.

Exemptions from some of the academic requirements of professional bodies, such as CIOB and CIAT may also be granted.
