Course Description
Students can choose from a range of course outcomes. All students begin by studying 'Core' units which include:
Business English & Communication Skills
Organisations & Behaviour
Introduction to Marketing
Learning from Work & Professional Development
Business Environment & Business Law
Quantitative Analysis
Introduction to Finance
Development of Business Information Systems
Accounting for Business and Managers
Human Resources
Database Systems for Business.
The Learning from Work & Professional Development unit will enable students to develop an understanding of the organisation, and its aims; and will encourage the development of those skills considered essential to the business sector.
Further 'Option' units are then selected from a pool of business units. Students may also choose units that will lead to an area of specialisation in their final year of an Honours programme at LSBU or for their intended career path.
These include the following:
Integrated Marketing Communications
Taxation
E-business & Web Design
Business Start-Up, Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation.
If you wish to progress to London South Bank University for the final year of the Honours Degree course, some option units will be compulsory.
A number of course assessments will be based in or will relate to the workplace.
