HIGHER NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN BUSINESS

Who is this course for?

This course is designed to develop participants' business knowledge and skills for a wide variety of business careers and to equip students with the knowledge, skills and understanding required to function effectively in the business environment.

The transferable skills acquired will enable the student to meet the ever changing circumstances in today's business practice. The teaching and learning strategies employed ensure that students not only acquire knowledge but are also presented with opportunities to develop and apply higher level skills of analysis and critical evaluation. It gives you a solid foundation in all aspects of business and is relevant to both public and private sectors.

How long is this course for?
1 day (9-4pm or 2-9pm) or 2 evenings per week for 2 years.
What will I study?
The course has a total of ten subjects studied over two academic years.

• Law
• Marketing

• Quantitative Techniques
• e-marketing
• Introduction to the Internet and E-Business

Assessment in each module is by coursework and/or examination.

Attendance Part-Time
What can I do after the course?

Successful students progress to senior positions in Business, Retail, Personnel, Marketing and Finance or they may enrol on a relevant degree course and gain exemption for the subjects taken on the HNC.

Students may also join the part time Business Studies Degree offered at Newry or gain entry to a variety of degrees in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. Students may also gain entry to the Level 7 Professional Diploma in Management.
