Career Prospects and Progression
The course equips students for an administrative role in general business. Progression on to the Foundation Degree which focuses on vocational skills and knowledge, in addition to the practical experience, makes students very employable. Students can then also enrol on the full BA (Hons) degree.
Modules
First Year Units - (4 at 20 credits each) Management and Organisational Behaviour; Information Management; Management of Financial Information; Organisation, Competition and Business Environment. Second Year - (4 at 20 credits each) will comprise: Enterprise Management; Strategic Business Analysis; Contemporary issues in HRM - Concepts and Practices and Marketing Relationships.
Method of Assessment
Written and oral assignments, time-constrained coursework and some examinations.
Course Length
The HNC is an eight-unit higher education Degree programme based on day and/or evening attendance. A study programme can be put together for either two units per year for four years or four units a year for two years attending during the day at Pibwrlwyd or in the evening/s at Graig campus. Study can be extended/adapted if required to accommodate personal circumstances. A half-day plus one evening programme might be possible depending on timetabling.
